Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!!

A big thanks going out from me to all who participated in the first Pack 298 Pumpkin Patch, sponsored by Frisco Square. Official Boy Scout rules preclude me from mentioning anyone on the Internet in a way that might help someone figure out the kids names, so we'll keep this generic and secure. Lots of pictures though, so if you were there helping you should see yourself.
The event took place on top of a busy weekend, so I really appreciate those of you who made it to help. On Saturday morning, I was met by Pete Hosp (who has played Santa at Frisco's Merry Mainstreet for years), who donated an extra 60 pumpkins and a $50 bank to get us started. The other 135 pumpkins were supplied by Frisco Square and stored on the premises. Pete and I started loading pumpkins, only to be joined by Frisco Square Manager Bob Shaver himself. Bob, Pete and I loaded pumpkins for a while, and then were joined by several other members of the Frisco Square team who helped us finish it off in short order.

Most everyone was at CUBe on Saturday, and more of you showed up on Sunday. Even so, the WHOLE weekend was outrageously busy, it was great to see a bunch of you make it out. Sunday the big challenge was the wind. Pete brought us a tent to block the sun, but it soon became a hang glider, so we had to take it down.
A huge thank you to Frisco Square management, who gave us a chance to make this work. You owe it to yourself to check them out if you're considering opening a new retail location, or looking for a really cool apartment. And thanks to Pete Hosp, who is up for sainthood, in my book. This weekend would not have happened without his attention and hard work. Oh, and one more thanks to the siblings who came out. I think every one of the big sisters and big brothers helped a great deal.
